WEAVING & KNOTTING PROCESS
An authentic oriental rug is a handmade carpet from the “Orient” that is either knotted or woven with pile or woven without pile. Handmade oriental rugs are woven using various materials such as silk, wool, and cotton.
Our Oriental rugs are made in various parts of Pakistan in our own productions houses. People from different cultures, countries, racial groups and religious faiths are involved in the production of our oriental rugs. Our Carpets are very similar in character to Persian Carpets and has modern contemporary designs and woven with handspun vegetable dyes wool with both Senneh and Ghiordes knot, fineness of knotting in rage of 150 to over 300 knots per sq inch.
We use natural fibers like: wool, cotton and silk. Wool is the most marvelous and the major input material in producing rugs because of its special advantages of flexibility, durability and beauty. Thanks to its excellent absorbent quality, wool imparts of deep richness to color. As wool is self-extinguishing compared to other synthetic fibers due to presence of high moisture content, it does not support combustion once the source of flame is removed. All these qualities make wool a prime choice of Hasbi Gallery for making rugs.
